“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” Isaiah 30:21, Jennifer Jestes said after visiting the orphan children throughout Africa. These verses is what guided her as she founded and led the ministry of Project Liberty in 2002. Her mission for this organization was to "meet the needs of orphans and have an opportunity to share Christ.
After 2 years of volunteering and traveling in Africa, she saw the great need for "orphan care" and God gave Jennifer a vision for the ministry. She began an amazing journey of faith, dedicating herself to finding and supporting orphans and hurting children. Working to come along side other Mozambicans who were caring for the poor, abandoned and suffering in Mozambique. Throughout her years in Mozambique, Jennifer has experienced malaria, riots, missile explosions, death of children; but most of all she has had the joy of seeing children's lives transformed through love. She says her greatest accomplishment has been the gift of being a Mother to so many orphan children. In 2015 Jennifer met her husband, a Mozambican who had a love for his own people. Jennifer and Chana were married and together began to work with the orphan, disabled, abandoned and suffering children of Mozambique. Jennifer and Chana are looking forward to the exciting things God is doing through them as they minister the love of Jesus Christ to orphaned children. Jennifer says, her life has forever been shaped by Africa, she has become stronger due to her experiences in Africa. That she has been changed by the utter poverty and needless death; but more then anything her soul has been changed by the little lives that bring so much love and joy into her life. |
